The Otjozondjupa Regional Council elected new leaders to fill the vacant positions left by two councilors who went to parliament.

Okahandja Constituency Councillor Bethuel Tjaveondja was sworn in as Chairperson of the Otjozondjupa Regional Council Management Committee, while Okakarara Constituency Councillor Abdal Mutjavikua was nominated as a member of the Management Committee.

The positions were left vacant following the appointment of Marlayn Mbakera and Elder Fillipe as Members of Parliament.

Council could however not elect the two councilors for National Council after adjourning the meeting several times to try and come to common ground.

The meeting was postponed till further notice.
