The Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture held a meet-and-greet session with various sectors within the ministry to familiarise themselves with the new leadership.

The ministry, which will function within six sectors, will be working with a total budget of N$26.1 billion, with N$24.8 billion allocated toward education while N$1.3 billion will go towards youth and sport.

Newly appointed Minister Sanet Steenkamp emphasised teamwork to ensure the attainment of results.

She added that the merging of the ministries portfolio stems from the president's profound understanding that these sectors are inseparable and intertwined.

"The formation of the Ministry of EISYAC brings together several crucial sectors and functions that shape the foundation of our society. We know that education forms the foundation of our development while innovation and technology open up a whole new world to all of us, pushing us forward. Our youth represents the promise of the now, the present and also the future, whilst the sports industry helps us to foster not only discipline but also national pride."

Steenkamp stated that the finalisation of their integrated strategic plan must define a unified vision aligning with all sectors within the ministry, adding that no sector should be superior to the other.

She added the ministry will invest in continuous training and development to ensure that all staff members are equipped with the necessary skills to adapt and thrive in the new structure.

"We will empower our employees to be more effective in their roles and to contribute meaningfully and purpose-driven to this role that we have assigned them and towards our collective success."

Steenkamp added that expertise and vision will be aligned to transform aspirations into tangible action.
