Health and Social Services Minister Esperance Luvindao has announced that the ministry is in the process of updating the laboratory policy to guide the development of laboratory services and promote technological advancement.

Speaking at the NAMLS 2025 congress on transforming laboratory medicine, Luvindao took the opportunity to acknowledge the often overlooked contributions of pharmacists and laboratory employees, who play a vital role in delivering essential services and enabling informed decision-making.

The minister also urged the public to refrain from criticising the ministry’s initiatives and instead focus on the positive strides being made.

She emphasised the importance of collaboration in the ongoing improvement of services and underscored the need for Namibia to become self-reliant in the health sector, particularly in laboratory services.
