Environment, Forestry and Tourism Minister Indileni Daniel emphasised the importance of ensuring that wildlife resources benefit communities near conservancies.

She noted that tourism concessions in national parks should also provide economic benefits to rural communities, fostering income generation, improved livelihoods, and job creation.

Minister Daniel made these remarks at the Etosha King Nehale Lodge in the Oshikoto Region during a meeting with the King Nehale Conservancy. This engagement was part of her familiarisation tour to evaluate how community members manage their natural resources.

During the meeting, King Nehale Conservancy presented its key achievements, challenges, and opportunities to the minister.

Daniel expressed her admiration for the conservancy's operations and its effective use of generated funds to benefit the community.
