Police in the Zambezi Region have arrested two suspects in connection with the theft of ATM cards and other electronic equipment on Tuesday at Kapps Farm in Windhoek.

Zambezi Police Commander Andreas Shilelo says the bank cards have a value of N$5 million.

The two suspects, including the kingpin, have been arrested, while another is still on the run.

Commissioner Shilelo says the suspects opened a bank account with money from the stolen ATM cards.

Meanwhile, the police arrested a suspect for theft of a motor vehicle belonging to tourists at Shoprite, Ngweze Shopping Mall.

A second suspect is on the run.

Commissioner Shilelo has appealed to the Katima Mulilo Town Council and the business community to install CCTV in their areas.

He also commended the public's assistance.

Shilelo said the police are also helping in tracing suspects in connection with dealing in ivory in Zambia who fled to Katima Mulilo.
