Affirmative Repositioning (AR) MP Tuhafeni Kalola rejected the 2025/26 budget in his maiden parliamentary speech, saying it fails to address the needs of most Namibians.
He criticised limited support for youth, farmers, and public workers and called for reforms in education, including curriculum updates and improved school conditions.
On infrastructure, Kalola highlighted poor road conditions in both urban and rural areas. He called on the Ministry of Works and Transport to present a plan to upgrade roads, linking better road networks to access to health, education and markets.
Kalola also urged investment in roads, the removal of the Redline, and stronger support for indigenous languages and cultural programmes.
