Spiritual leaders from diverse religious backgrounds in Namibia have joined in honouring the legacy of the late Pope Francis.

Across continents and faiths, the death of Pope Francis has sparked a moment of global unity, as many reflect on his enduring message of hope, justice and compassion as shown by the Catholic leader.

Bishop Sageus |Keib of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia recalled the Pope's wish for Catholics and Lutherans to journey forward together as pilgrims of hope, highlighting the Pope's commitment to Christian unity and reconciliation.

Retired academic and religious expert Emeritus Professor Paul John Isaak emphasised that late Pope Francis embodied the gospel by living among and advocating for the poor, marginalised and wounded, reminding the church that its mission is most alive when it serves those often excluded in society.

Greater Love Ministries' Pastor Haruna Goroh also expressed profound shock at the Pope's death, joining many in prayer for comfort for the Catholic community and all those mourning this loss.

Communities and church leaders recognised Pope Francis not only as a spiritual shepherd but as a tireless advocate for dignity, peace and solidarity among all people, regardless of their religious affiliation.
