Chief Joseph Max Haraseb of the |Gaiodaman Traditional Authority died at the age of 82 on Monday, April 22, at the Catholic Hospital in Windhoek.

As leader of the |Gaiodaman Traditional Authority, he guided his community living along the Omuramba Omatako riverbed stretching from Outjo to the Waterberg plateau.
