Bank Windhoek has launched its 6th prestigious art competition and exhibition called the 2025 Triennial Competition.

This event is held every three years, showcasing the best of Namibian visual art.

The Triennial is Namibia's premier national visual arts competition and exhibition.

It is a collaborative initiative between Bank Windhoek and the National Arts Gallery of Namibia aimed at showcasing the diversity and quality of Namibian art while fostering cultural dialogue and artistic growth.

Artists are required to submit their works across various mediums, including traditional forms like painting and sculpture and innovative techniques such as wire drawing and mixed media, from the 20th to the 27th of May.

The competition is set to take place on the 6th of August this year.

The Head of Corporate Social Investments at Bank Windhoek, Bronwyn Moody, encouraged all visual artists from all walks of life to enter their works and celebrate Namibian art.

She indicated the competition reflects on the question of what it means to be Namibian.

"The triennial is more than just an exhibition for us in Edmonton. It is a mirror-house of the society reflecting our collective journey with endless possibilities. This platform is also where bold ideas take shape. The annual has been a pivotal stage for fostering creativity and shaping the future of the movie and art."

The Director of National Art Gallery of Namibia Michelle Van Wyk said, "This competition is not just about showcasing Namibian talent. It's about encouraging bold ideas, new perspectives, and the courage to create without boundaries."

Three winners will be selected from this competition who will be walking away with N$50,000 for the first prize winner, N$35,000 for the runner-up and N$25,000.
