Patrick Kalaluka was elected as Chairperson of the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Nkurenkuru branch, with Jafet Siteketa chosen as Vice Chairperson.

Kalaluka assured that he will work hard to elevate the business community of Kavango West to the level of other regions.

Vice Chairperson Siteketa voiced concerns about the subscription fees required to become a member, stating that they prevent grassroots-level businesses from participating.

Five other business representatives were also elected as EXCO members.

Mayor of Nkurenkuru Town, Jafet Muti, encouraged business owners to collaborate, stating that individualism in business hinders growth.

Chief Executive Officer of the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Titus Nampala, described the body as a bridge between business and the public.

Economist and researcher at NCCI, Gabriel Nghiinomenwa, encouraged business people to join the chamber.

The NCCI is embarking on a countrywide mission aimed at recruiting business owners to join the body while concurrently assisting regional branches to elect new leadership for the next two years.
