Miss World Namibia, Selma Kamanya, paid a courtesy call to Swapo Party Secretary General Sophia Shaningwa after returning from the 72nd Miss World event held in Hyderabad, India.
Shaningwa welcomed Kamanya with a hug and affectionately referred to her as her grandmother, smiling brightly.
The Secretary General praised Kamanya for representing both Namibia and Namibian women with pride.
During the visit, Kamanya received flowers in recognition of her historic achievements as a top model in Africa, where she was the second runner-up and reached the top eight globally at the 72nd Miss World.
Kamanya expressed her gratitude to Shaningwa for sending her off to India with love, noting that Shaningwa's blessing boosted her confidence on the international stage.
The pageant featured participants from 107 countries, with Miss Thailand, Suchata Chuangsri, taking the crown.
