Omusati Governor Erginus Endjala has clarified that he did not bid farewell to the region's residents during the Olufuko Gala Dinner held over the weekend in Outapi.
While speaking at the Olufuko Festival, the governor noted that his term will conclude on June 20. He humorously suggested that this could be his final address as governor, as his contract is set to expire on that date.
Out of the 14 governors, seven—including those from //Kharas, Omaheke, Erongo, Omusati, Ohangwena, Zambezi, and Oshana—were granted extensions of their terms by former President Nangolo Mbumba on March 20.
In contrast, the contract of former Oshikoto regional governor Penda ya Ndakolo was not renewed, prompting President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah to appoint Sacky Kathindi as his successor.
With only eight days remaining, attention is focused on the President, who is expected to announce decisions regarding the renewal, reassignment, or release of these governors from their
positions. This uncertainty also affects special advisors to the president, who are awaiting their fate to be determined by Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah.
