The Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT) has begun developing a National Tourism Spatial Development Master Plan aimed at transforming and guiding the future of tourism in Namibia.
A consultancy has been officially commissioned to lead the creation of this comprehensive framework.
The primary objective of the Master Plan is to provide a structure that will guide the spatial development of tourism, emphasizing sustainable practices, enhancing key tourist attractions, fostering community participation, and promoting capacity and skills development,
as well as supporting innovation and investment opportunities.
To ensure that the plan reflects the realities and aspirations of all Namibians, the tourism community, government agencies, NGOs, financial institutions, community members, and other interested stakeholders are invited to participate in consultations regarding this important development, which will be held in Swakopmund.
