The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN)’s Deputy Director of Corporate Communications and Marketing, Mulauli Siluka, announced that the commission has commenced the deployment of 94 election officials in preparation for the Kamanjab Constituency by-election scheduled for June 17.
These officials have been organised into 18 teams.
The by-election was prompted by the resignation of former United Democratic Front (UDF) councillor Nico Somaeb, who vacated his seat after being elected to serve in the National Assembly for the 2025–2030 term.
To boost voter participation, Siluka encouraged all registered voters across the five constituencies, Sesfontein, Otjiwarongo, Grootfontein, Kamanjab, and Kabbe South, to actively engage in the democratic process by turning out to vote.
Preparations are ongoing to ensure a smooth election, with all logistical and administrative aspects being managed by the deployed teams.
