The Chief Electoral and Referenda Officer of the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN), Peter Shaama, outlined the components of the 2025 Regional Councils and Local Authorities Elections calendar on Wednesday.

According to the calendar, the electoral process entered its election phase on 16 June, with the start of ballot paper procurement, printing, and delivery.

This process will continue through 31 October. Observer accreditation and the nomination of candidates will take place between 1 August and 31 October.

Nomination deadlines for independent candidates and political parties have yet to be finalised but are scheduled to fall within the same window.

The dispatch of sensitive election materials will occur from 2 to 25 November, while duplicate voter registration cards will be issued between 17 and 23 November.

Demobilisation of special voting teams is expected to follow immediately after 25 November; however, without official confirmation of polling dates, the timelines remain provisional.

The electoral calendar concludes in March 2026.
