Today is D-day for the submission of individual tax returns, and the Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) has issued a reminder to that effect.

NamRA Manager for Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Management, Tonateni Shidhudhu, in a statement, encouraged all taxpayers who have received their PAYE 5 certificates from their employers to submit their returns without delay.

He said that submissions can be made on NamRA’s digital platform, Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS).

“This month has indeed been a busy one for us at NamRA. Our offices have experienced high volumes of visitors, and to increase access, we extended our services across the country. From mobile tax service points in various towns, villages, and shopping malls, we have been on the ground to ensure every taxpayer has the opportunity to comply,” said Shidhudhu.

He added that filing tax returns is not just a formality but a legal obligation and a critical step that allows NamRA, as the collector of revenue, to assess whether the correct amount of tax was deducted during the financial year.

Shidhudhu said that no extension has been granted, but should there be any change, NamRA will communicate accordingly.
