Finance Minister Ericah Shafudah is leading a high-level delegation to the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development, currently taking place in Seville, Spain. 

Accompanying the minister are the Director General of the National Planning Commission, Dr. Kaire Mbuende, and the Commissioner of the Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA), Sam Shivute.

On the sidelines of the conference, Minister Shafudah held bilateral discussions with Reem Ebrahim Al Hashimy, the United Arab Emirates’ Minister of State for International Cooperation. The engagement centred on exploring possible areas of cooperation between the two countries, with a particular focus on development financing.

The UAE encouraged Namibia to submit project proposals for potential funding through the Abu Dhabi Development Fund, as part of broader efforts to strengthen economic ties and promote sustainable development.

The Namibian delegation’s participation underscores the country’s commitment to mobilising strategic partnerships and financial resources in support of national development objectives.
