Despite the lapsed deadline for all individuals to file their tax returns, the Namibia Revenue Agency is urging those who have not filed to still do so.
Yesterday, the Agency experienced a last-minute rush.
NamRa's Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Manager, Tonateni Shidhudhu, encouraged taxpayers to visit offices close to them to file their tax returns.
"It does not mean that you cannot come because the due date is over. So we are still encouraging taxpayers to come and submit their returns, and those that are able to do so from the comfort of their homes or offices may still do so by using our digital platform, which is itas."
Shidhudhu explains the consequences of not submitting tax returns.
"There are punitive measures if you have not filed your tax returns on time, especially if you have some outstanding balances on your account. And this is why we say please do not wait longer because the more you wait, the more you accrue interest and penalties."
