The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the International Training College Lingua.

The college has pledged N$75,000 in scholarships to each of the top three contestants taking part in the Miss Namibia Beauty Pageant.

The scholarship includes full tuition fees for the duration of a three-year programme at the college for the top three contestants and will be adjusted accordingly should tuition fees increase during this time.

In addition to that, the top ten contestants will each receive a study sponsorship with the value of N$10,000 to be applied toward a full qualification or used to enrol in short courses.

Founder and CEO of Lingua, Ingrith Kloppers-Mettler, said that the initiative aligns perfectly with their mandate to empower through education.

She added that the sponsorship will equip the young women with tools to lead with knowledge, speak with insight, and act with purpose.

"This sponsorship is about more than financial support; it is about investing in a journey, not only as title holders but as young women who have been called to serve. We understand that your goals go far beyond the pageant stage. As finalists and eventual winners, you will be expected to lead community initiatives, engage in national development efforts, and represent Namibia on international platforms," said Kloppers-Mettler.

NBC Director General Stanley Similo encouraged the contestants to make full use of such opportunities, as they can potentially benefit not only them but their communities as well.

He expressed pride in the pageant's progress achieved over the past few years, stating that, more than a beauty contest, it has evolved into a platform for empowerment and inspiration for young women in Namibia.

"One of the commitments we made was that it will not just be about beauty. It will have to be about empowering, growing, and giving self-confidence to the girl child. We know what the history in this country is of how girls and women in particular are treated. So in our own way, this is a small way in which we are contributing towards the growth of women."

The crowning ceremony of Miss Namibia 2025 is set to take place on the 19th in Ongwediva.
