Former First Lady Monica Geingos paid a courtesy visit to Lis Cuesta Peraza, First Lady of Cuba, and Teresa Amarelle Boué, Secretary General of the Federation of Cuban Women, in Havana, Cuba, today.

Geingos was accompanied by the Cuban Ambassador to Namibia, Sergio Vigoa de la Uz, and the Namibian Ambassador to Cuba, Samuel |Gôagoseb.

The engagement focused on strengthening mutual ties, particularly in primary healthcare, reproductive health rights, and strategies to empower women and girls in Namibia and Cuba. Discussions highlighted the importance of cross-border collaboration in advancing gender equality, improving healthcare access, and fostering sustainable development for women and youth.

During the meeting, Geingos expressed gratitude to First Lady Peraza for the support and solidarity extended to her and her family following the passing of her husband, the late President Hage G. Geingob.
