The Keetmanshoop Magistrate's Court has postponed the case of three suspects, George Cloete, his wife Charmaine, and his brother Bino Cloete, to the 4th of November to allow for further investigations.

The trio faces two counts of contravening the Prevention of Organised Crime Act and illicitly trafficking goods under the Diamond Act.

It is alleged that the suspects trafficked and sold diamonds in Port Nolloth, South Africa.

The diamonds are believed to be linked to those stolen during NAMDIA's robbery, worth millions of dollars.

The state has requested the postponement of the case, as investigations are still ongoing.

The state prosecutor, Abel Manyando, told the court that affidavits related to cross-border transactions by individuals representing companies in neighbouring South Africa are still outstanding.

He added that a case of defeating the course of justice, stemming from this case, is also under investigation, with possible charges against individuals expected soon.

Standing in for defence counsel Florian Beukes, lawyer Percy McNully requested that the court grant a final postponement, arguing that police investigations into the matter had been ongoing for three months.

Magistrate Erich Dandu granted a final postponement until 4 November, extending the detention of George and Bino Cloete at the Hardap Correctional Service facility near Mariental.
