The Nedbank Good Series held its 13th event of the year at the Windhoek Golf and Country Club this past Saturday, with 96 players teeing off for a day of competition and charity.
The event is part of a charity initiative that supports Agro Pro Vision, a program that provides essential training and services to underserved agricultural communities throughout Namibia. This year's series has already visited 10 towns, including Swakopmund, Oshakati, and Mariental, with the goal of developing golf nationwide.
Dan Zwiebel, an organizer for the Nedbank Good Series, highlighted the importance of the initiative, stating that it "gives back to the communities" and that they are "working on implementing women's golf and looking at exciting new plans for the future."
On the competitive side, John Chadyiwa was the winner of the Windhoek event. Chadyiwa said he was "really happy with how I played today... every putt I made just showed on the green. It's a great feeling."
The series also provides an opportunity for young talent to participate. Junior golfer Caleb Volschenk shared his excitement, saying, "It's a privilege playing in the Nedbank Series. I feel lucky to stand against players like Likuis Nande."
For other participants, like Aldo Beukes, the day was all about fun and camaraderie. Beukes noted that "It's always fun to play here. The atmosphere is amazing."
The series will conclude with the grand finale on October 3rd at Omeya Golf Club.
