President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah paid tribute to the strength of Palestinian women, despite the continued untold suffering they face under occupation, including displacement, forced hunger and systemic violence.
"Their resilience in the face of adversity," President Nandi-Ndaitwah said, "is a testament to our human spirit, yet their pain is a reminder of our collective failure to uphold the promises of international law and human dignity."
The Namibian President expressed regret over the lives lost and properties destroyed in Gaza, adding that "it is our hope that the ongoing negotiations will bring relief to the people of Palestine. We must also not forget the women of Western Sahara, with the hope that one day the UN Resolution on the referendum in that country will be upheld. In our region, Southern Africa, we call for peace in Eastern DRC and in Cabo Delgado in Mozambique."
