The Electoral Commission of Namibia's (ECN) Regional Electoral Officer for the ||Kharas Region, Jejamaie Mujoro, has said the election team is almost ready, as over 150 officials participated in a one-day Results Management training at the Westdene Community Hall in Keetmanshoop.
Sixteen returning officers and verifiers, 14 constituency information technology officials, 14 duplicate card issuers, and 106 presiding officers were trained to strengthen their knowledge and skills in election result management.
"We are ready. I don't think anyone would be here learning from others; we have presiding officers with different experiences and qualification levels, and verifiers doing the verification for the first time. We also have presiding officers being presiding officers for the first time, so having everybody here for the first time helps us a lot, and I am very proud to be here and observing interactions and the way that we are learning."
Mujoro said most of the sensitive and non-sensitive materials, including tables and chairs, have been received and that the team is now 80% ready for the upcoming elections, with only minor elements left to fulfil.
