With days to go before Wednesday's Regional Councils and Local Authorities Elections, young eligible voters in the Karasburg East Constituency are calling on incoming leaders to make youth employment a top priority.

The NBC News team caught up with young voters at Ariamsvlei Settlement to hear what influenced their voting decisions.

Keen to participate in the elections, many highlighted unemployment as their biggest concern, calling for interventions that address the lack of job opportunities and skills development programmes.

Ariamsvlei, a tiny settlement with around 500 residents, serves as a critical border post with South Africa and a major transit point for goods and travellers between the two countries.
