It's been a big year for Namibian golf, with NAGU driving competition, exposure, and opportunity for local players. We look back at a year that strengthened the game and hear from NAGU President Toady Gurriab.
This year marked one of the busiest periods for the Namibia Amateur Golf Union. The union hosted seven national events, attracted players from different countries across Africa, and provided local golfers with tougher competition, while earning valuable World Amateur Ranking points and keeping the national team pathway active.
Namibia also represented the country regionally, taking part in the AC Region 5 Championship in Botswana and gaining important experience against strong African opposition. On top of that, Namibia hosted the King Price International Pairs Regional, offering local players the chance to qualify for the world finals in Sun City.
"What a year for golf. We've seen incredible growth, fantastic participation, and a level of competition that we are truly proud of," NAGU President Toady Gurriab said.
For NAGU, the focus this year was clear: exposure, competition, and opportunity. A year defined by effort, participation, and exposure, NAGU closes the season with confidence and looks ahead to building even stronger in the years to come.
