Detective Inspector Pendukeni Nghuluwa took the witness stand to oppose bail for Naomi Fisch, describing her as a well-known drug dealer in Rehoboth.
Nghuluwa stated that Fisch has a history of arrests and currently has a pending drug case.
He said police acted on information about drug activity at Fisch’s residence. Upon arrival, officers observed a gathering in the yard.
Nghuluwa testified that officers saw Menschel Beukes running towards the house and pursued him.
Officers found Steven Schneider locking the burglar door. Nghuluwa noted that Beukes discarded a plastic bag outside Fisch’s yard.
Officers retrieved the bag thrown away by Beukes, which contained cannabis.
Further searches within the premises uncovered another plastic bag in an outside room, which contained additional illicit substances.
Items, including crack cocaine smoking pipes and half mandrax tablets, were found on the ground near individuals present in the yard after they were searched.
One of Fisch’s co-accused admitted to possession of the drugs found on the ground, stating he purchased them from Fisch and Schneider.
Nghuluwa’s testimony continues.
