A 13-year-old boy from Gobabis appeared in the Gobabis Magistrate’s Court charged with the fatal stabbing of a 26-year-old woman and her three-year-old daughter, a case that has shocked the community.

The accused faces two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.

The victims have been identified as Machthanisia Dalime Menatzick (26) and her daughter, Delaine Ester Menatzick (3). Menatzick's six-year-old son survived the incident with injuries.

During the proceedings, the court heard that the accused has been receiving professional assistance and that a screening report has been compiled as part of the investigation.

Because of the seriousness of the charges, the State opposed bail. Magistrate Eden Iyambo, who presided over the matter, ordered that the accused be remanded in custody.

The case has been postponed to 15 April 2026 for further investigation.
