Namibia’s Ambassador to China, Tonata Itenge-Emvula, presented her Letters of Credence to President Xi Jinping in Beijing on Friday.
The ceremony marks the official start of Ambassador Itenge-Emvula’s tenure and reaffirms the strong bilateral ties between Namibia and China, anchored in deep historical bonds, enduring solidarity, and strategic cooperation.
During the event, she pledged to strengthen these relations, emphasising enhanced trade and investment for mutual benefit.
Itenge-Emvula highlighted key areas for collaboration, including agriculture; energy and water; oil and gas; tourism; creative industries; and education, with a focus on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
She was accompanied by Minister Counsellor Bertha Amakali.
In addition to China, the embassy holds concurrent accreditation to the Kingdom of Cambodia, Mongolia, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
