Vice President Lucia Witbooi is currently on an official visit to the Omaheke Region, where she is touring the area and engaging with various marginalised communities.
Her tour started at Epako Clinic in Gobabis, where she administered the first polio drops—launching the first round of Namibia's nationwide polio vaccination campaign in the region.
The Ministry of Health and Social Services launched the national drive to demonstrate readiness against polio's return, targeting children aged zero to ten with free, safe vaccines. Namibia has remained polio-free since 2006 through sustained preventive measures.
