Swapo Party VP urges collaboration in drought mitigation

Swapo Party Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah called for concerted efforts to mitigate the drought situation experienced in some parts of the country due to low rainfall.

Speaking at the first Central Committee of the Swapo Party for this year, Nandi-Ndaitwah appealed to all regional coordinators and the nation at large to work in collaboration with the governors and councillors to see to it that whatever the government is making available to ease the drought situation and its impact must be done in the best interest of the people.

Vice President to attend 2nd Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Summit

Vice President Nangolo Mbumba arrived in St. Petersburg, Russia, for the 2nd Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Summit scheduled to start on July 27–28, 2023.

Mbumba is leading the Namibian delegation, which includes the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah; the Minister of Trade and Industrialization, Lucia Iipumbu; the Information and Communication Technology Minister, Dr. Peya Mushelenga; and the Minister of Labour and Industrial Relations, Utoni Nujoma, as well as senior government officials.

NCS celebrates 17th Correctional Service Day

Vice President Nangolo Mbumba says the Namibia Correctional Service (NCS) has recorded key achievements with the help of the community advisory committee for transparency.

Mbumba was speaking at the celebration of the 17th Correctional Service Day at Omaruru.

The Namibia Correctional Service implemented the offender risk management strategy in 2010, which has been instrumental in enhancing the effectiveness of the correctional system and ensuring successful rehabilitation and reintegration of offenders.

The Community Advisory Committee is made up of volunteers.

Discovery of oil in Namibia opens up investments- Mbumba

Vice President Nangolo Mbumba says the discovery of oil and other strategic resources in Namibia have opened up investments and value chains.

Mbumba addressed the Invest in Namibia session on the margins of the US-Africa Summit underway in Tlokweng, Botswana.

The session was convened by the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB).


Namibia's investment policies and protection remain key as the country aims to diversify its economic sectors.

Vice President continues his visits to the northern parts of Namibia

Vice President Nangolo Mbumba continues with his visits to the northern parts of the country.

Mbumba visited the Onandjokwe Intermediate Hospital in the Oshikoto Region, one of the oldest hospitals in the north of Namibia.

The Onandjokwe Lutheran Hospital was built by missionaries under the leadership of Dr. Selma Rainio from Finland.

Onandjokwe has now joined the ranks of Katutura, Oshakati, and Rundu as an intermediate referral hospital.

Namibia committed to widening access to institutions of higher learning- Mbumba

The Namibian government is committed to widening access to institutions of higher learning in the country.

This was said by Vice President Nangolo Mbumba when he inaugurated the University of Namibia's (UNAM) Southern Campus lecture hall complex at Keetmanshoop in the ||Kharas Region.

The government invested N$93 million for the first phase of the construction of the campus.

The construction of the complex, which consists of lecture halls, geoscience laboratories, and administration offices, started in 2016.

Presidency refutes reports as false that President Geingob does not support Swapo Party VP

The Presidency has refuted reports as false that President Hage Geingob does not support the Vice President of the Swapo Party Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.

It says, the Presidency has noted various statements, comments, innuendos and misrepresentations in the local media following the conclusion of the 7th SWAPO Party Congress.

The reports say, the statement purports falsely that Dr Geingob is planning to block or is not supporting Nandi-Ndaitwah as the Party's Presidential Candidate for the 2024 Presidential Elections.
