Namibia College of Open Learning's Director for Student Support, Dr. Ndeshimona Afunde, says the institution's mandate is to widen access to education through alternative learning opportunities and models.

Afunde noted that NAMCOL not only gives opportunities to out-of-school youth but also to the unemployed youth and working adults who need to reskill in order to match the skill set required in emerging economies.

Namibia College of Open Learning (NAMCOL) offers numerous tertiary programmes ranging from certificates, diplomas, and degrees in education, community development, and early childhood development to technical and vocational training.

The Marketing Manager of NAMCOL, Rholene Bok, says open and distance learning in essence means there is strong support to assist the learner because of the absence of a face-to-face component.
