President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has stated that the government is dedicated to ensuring that those responsible for the shooting and throwing of acid at Justine Shiweda will be brought to justice.

In a speech read on her behalf by Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare, the President reiterated that Namibia is a country governed by the rule of law and that any attack on anyone entrusted to uphold the law will be met with the full force of the law.

Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah said the country must never entertain criminality, intimidation or violence aimed at weakening the administration of justice in the country.

The President stated that the late Shiweda was a committed servant of the law and a professional who performed her duties with courage and a profound sense of justice and integrity.

Her untimely death has deeply affected the nation. She appealed to law enforcement to not be deterred and remain focused on enforcing law and order at all times.
