Six of the accused in the NAMCOR corruption trial have been granted bail, following their successful appeal against the Windhoek Magistrate's Court's refusal to grant them bail.
Judge Eileen Rakow substituted the 25 September 2025 order by the Magistrate's Court with an order granting the accused, Peter and Malakia Elindi, Leo Nandago, Immanuel Mulunga, Olivia Dunaiski and Jennifer Hamukwaya bail with a string of conditions.
The first, second, fourth and sixth appellants, Peter and Malaika Elindi, Mulunga and Hamukwaya, have been granted bail of N$50,000 each, while appellants three and five, Nandago and Dunaiski, were given bail amounting to N$20,000 each.
All appellants were also prohibited from applying for travel documents for the duration of the trial, while a photocopy of each of their passports, containing a photograph and particulars, will be displayed at all border posts as well as at Hosea Kutako and Eros Airports.
The Elindis and Nandago shall also not leave the Ondangwa district without prior written notification of the investigating officer, while appellants Mulunga, Dunaiski, and Hamukwaya will not leave the Windhoek district without written notification from the investigating officer.
The Elindis and Nandago are also required to report to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) office in Oshakati every Monday and Friday, while the other three are to report to the ACC office in Windhoek also on Monday and Friday.
All accused are also ordered not to interfere with any state witnesses and shall also not interfere with the investigation or any evidence related to the case. They were also ordered to attend all court hearings related to the case.
