The education community, accompanied by the Governor of the Otjozondjupa Region, visited Tsaraxa-Aibes Primary School in Otjiwarongo to mourn with learners and staff following the deaths of three teachers in a car crash last week.
The purpose of the visit was to provide comfort to the school community, offer support, and express solidarity with those impacted by the tragedy.
Although official identification of the remains is still pending, the three teachers are believed to be among the victims of the fatal crash that occurred while they were travelling from Windhoek to Otjiwarongo.
Education officials, fellow teachers, learners and community members gathered at the school to pay tribute to the educators.
They are remembered for their commitment to teaching and the role they played in shaping the lives of many learners.
"It is well with my soul; it is well with my soul. We want to encourage and comfort the principal of this school during these very difficult circumstances and help them find solace in that. We want to comfort the parents of our colleagues who have passed away during this difficult time, as they say that there is a silver lining around every dark cloud," said Governor ||Khamuseb.
Mourners reflected on the loss and its emotional impact on the school and community as messages of comfort and encouragement poured in.
The police confirmed that they are still awaiting the outcome of DNA tests to confirm the identity of the deceased.
