As the Easter weekend begins, travellers are making their way from the city to the southern parts of the country.

While some are travelling to reunite with their families, others are heading out to enjoy the long weekend festivities.

At the Rehoboth Roadblock traffic volumes were relatively low in the early afternoon.

Some motorists expressed excitement about their travel plans, with several spending their weekend on farms with their families. 

They have also urged fellow road users to comply with traffic regulations and adhere to speed limits.

Some travellers are taking long journeys, including from Rundu, to attend the Newspaper Cup taking place in Keetmanshoop this weekend.

With many people travelling to reunite with loved ones, motorists are encouraged to drive responsibly and make road safety their top priority this Easter.
