The 11th edition of the All Africa Waterski Championships, held at Von Bach Dam over a three-day Easter period, was won by hosts Namibia, who edged out defending champions South Africa.
The All Africa Waterski Championships took place at Von Bach Dam, three kilometres east of Okahandja.
The championship was hosted for the first time in Namibia after about a decade due to drought.
A total of 120 athletes competed in slalom, tricks, and jump events from Friday to Sunday.
Participants included hosts Namibia, defending champions South Africa, and Morocco.
Namibia finished ahead of South Africa by 13,428 points to approximately 12,000 points.
The All Africa Men's Overall category was won by South Africa's Simon Fairbank, who finished first with 1,662.13 points.
Skier and Namibia Waterski Association Vice Chairperson Nicolai Heger scored 1,089.20 points to take silver, while Namibia's Ian Wait finished third with 290.74 points.
In the Men's Open Overall, Namibia's Dieter Kebbel won gold with 1,094.78 points, while Wilco Coetzee placed second with 770.55 points.
Zanderia Van Der Merwe won the Under-17 Girls Overall category with 772.62 points.
The overall standings were contested between South Africa and Namibia, as both countries competed in all disciplines.
Morocco competed only in the slalom event.
The All Africa Championships focused on competition and development.
Africa Waterski President Martin Schmidt said Namibia competed closely with South Africa at this year's event.
In the slalom event, skiers navigated buoys and scored points as the rope shortened.
In tricks, athletes performed routines within a set time to score points.
The jump event returned after several years.
