Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Minister Emma Theofelus, launched the National Cybersecurity Incident Management Guidelines at an awareness event in Ondangwa, urging collaboration between the public and private sectors to build national cyber resilience.

Theofelus emphasised identifying vulnerabilities, implementing controls, and fostering cyber hygiene:

“Coordination, incident reporting, information sharing, and continuous improvement are key to building national cyber resilience.”

She highlighted partnerships with SADC Cyber Incident Response, African Forum of Computer Emergency Response Teams, and global best practices to enable swift incident response and intelligence sharing.

“The journey toward cyber resilience is ongoing. These guidelines will evolve with emerging threats and technology. We remain committed to regular reviews and capacity-building,” she said.

Oshana Governor Hofni Iipinge stressed cybersecurity as a shared responsibility:
“These Guidelines are practical tools that will enhance service delivery, safeguard public trust, and ensure continuity of essential services in an increasingly digital world.”
