The Ovaherero chieftaincy dispute before the Windhoek High Court has been postponed to tomorrow.

One of the claimants to the throne, Professor Mutjinde Katjiua, is expected to continue presenting evidence before the court.

Dr Hoze Riruako is the other claimant to the throne.

The matter stems from a dispute in which two Ovaherero leaders were inaugurated as paramount chiefs of the Ovaherero community.

Katjiua, who took the witness stand earlier, has been outlining the history of Ovaherero customary law and the traditional processes followed in the selection of a Paramount Chief.

During proceedings, Katjiua explained the role of customary structures and succession procedures within the Ovaherero Traditional Authority.
