The government of Zambia last week assured the diplomatic community that there will be business continuity before, during and after the general election.
These are African diplomats accredited to Zambia.
Namibian High Commissioner to Zambia Goms Menette was among them.
Then acting minister of Foreign Affairs And International Corporation Princess Kasune, who was also justice minister, gave the assurance in Lusaka during a special ministerial briefing for the African Diplomatic Corps in Zambia.
She said Zambia has continued to demonstrate its commitment to democratic governance through peaceful transitions of power since the return of multi-party democracy in 1991.
"It is in this spirit of partnership that we, as a Zambian government, reaffirm our firm belief in diplomacy and constructive dialogue as indispensable tools for resolving differences, especially with all that is happening in our world."
Kasune said the government will continue to promote dialogue, good governance, the rule of law and inclusive participation by all sections of society in the electoral process.
Meanwhile, Zambia's Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary Margaret Miyoba, said the government remains committed to strengthening cooperation with the African Diplomatic Corps ahead of the elections.
