Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare is expected to table a motion in the National Assembly tomorrow recommending the appointment of the Financial Intelligence Centre Director, Bryan Eiseb, as the next Director-General of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
If adopted by Parliament, Eiseb will succeed long-serving ACC Director-General Paulus Noa, whose current term expires next week.
Eiseb currently heads the Financial Intelligence Centre, an institution responsible for combating money laundering, terrorism financing and other financial crimes.
"I give notice that on Wednesday, which is tomorrow, 24th June, 2026, I shall move that this assembly, pursuant to section four, subsection one, read together with section four, subsection two of the Anti-Corruption Act, 2003 (Act No. 8 of 2003), approves the nomination by Her Excellency Dr Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, President of the Republic of Namibia, of the following: 1. Dr Brian Eiseb, for appointment as the director general of the Anti-Corruption Commission for a term of five years. 2. To extend for one year the tenure of advocate Erna van der Merwe as deputy director general of the Anti-Corruption Commission, respectively, I so move, honourable speaker."
