Namibia's Young Warriors have secured a place in the semi-finals of the COSAFA Under-20 AFCON Qualifiers after defeating Seychelles 3-0 in their final group-stage match.

The victory confirms Namibia's progression to the knockout stage as the team continues its push for qualification to the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations.

Namibia entered the regional competition seeking one of COSAFA's two qualification spots for the 2027 CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana.

The Young Warriors began their campaign with victories over Mauritius and Mozambique before facing Seychelles in their final Group A encounter.

Needing only a draw to advance, Namibia took the lead in the 15th minute when Rashid Naobeb scored his second goal of the tournament.

Mateus Ashitenda doubled the advantage shortly after the interval, before Lukas Sakeus added a third late in the second half to seal the win.

The result gave Namibia a maximum nine points from three matches, completing the group stage without conceding a goal.

Namibia joined Zambia in securing semi-final spots, with the remaining positions to be determined from the other groups and the best-ranked runner-up.

Under the tournament format, the three group winners and the best runner-up advance to the semi-finals, with the two finalists earning qualification for the 2027 tournament in Ghana.

The Young Warriors now await confirmation of their semi-final opponents, remaining one victory away from securing a place at the continental finals.
