The Rakel Iindongo-Kakwambi Foundation has donated school supplies, toiletries and sanitary pads worth N$40,000 to Ondukuta Combined School in the Omusati Region.
The donation includes a laptop with a printer, printing papers and school uniforms for boys and girls.
Its Co-founder, Julia Kakwambi-Nakale said the Foundation has over the past two years expanded its outreach programme, targeting schools in need across the northern regions.
“Up to today we donated to three schools in Omusati and two in Ohangwena region respectively. Today we are here, not as a visitor, but as partners of this school.”
Ondukuta Combined School Principal, Vaino Kavandje explained that the school remains committed to creating an environment that nurtures academic excellence and personal growth.
“One of the aims of Ondukuta Combined School is to enable pupils to do their best in all aspects of school life, and help them to meet the challenges of the future as successfully as possible.”
Kavandje said the donation comes at a time when the school needs additional support to meet the needs of vulnerable learners.
He commended the Foundation for its continued investment in education and called on learners to uphold values of discipline and respect.
“Follow teachers' instructions promptly, work as hard as possible at all times, learn to share and take turns and do nothing that will hurt or upset anyone.”
The donated supplies will be distributed to less privileged learners.
