The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) delegation, led by the Director General, Menesia Muinjo, met with various traditional authorities in Tsunkwe.

During her visit to the Ju|'hoansi Traditional Authority, Muinjo engaged traditional leaders on how they can work together to better serve their community.

Senior Traditional Councillor at the Ju|'hoansi Traditional Authority, Fransina Gauz, says NBC plays an important role in the community and appreciates the broadcaster's efforts in serving rural communities.

However, she noted that there is a need to improve radio broadcasting in Tsumkwe, particularly to accommodate the different San languages and dialects.

Gauz called on NBC to be more inclusive of all San languages, saying families are scattered across the country and rely on radio to access information.

Currently, the NBC radio station in Tsumkwe broadcasts in Ju|'hoansi and !Kung dialects, with its signal covering a radius of approximately 30 kilometres from the settlement.
