The rising cost of fuel is putting pressure on Namibia's public transport operators, with bus and taxi drivers threatening to increase fares, particularly as the festive season approaches.
Operators argue that high fuel prices are eating into their profits, while commuters say another fare increase would place further strain on households already struggling with the high cost of living and stagnant salaries.
To discuss this was Pendapala Nakathingo, the National Secretary-General of the Namibia Bus and Taxi Association, NABTA.
