Situated right at the entrance of the Otavi town along the B1 highway, the Namcor service station has been closed due to some challenges.
The fuel station re-opened under a new dealership, Amor Fuel, and promised renewed energy, a clear vision and a strong commitment to serving Otavi and Namibia at large.
"The past has taught us valuable lessons; it has reminded us that progress requires patience and collaboration. Now our attention turns to the future. Even if it may seem gloomy, some people are no longer checking their fuel gauges; they are checking their bank balances before overtaking. You want to see the service station become a reliable destination for fuel, a partner to business, and a source of opportunity for the local community," stated the dealer of the Amor Fuel, Fidel Iipumbu.
Victoria Sibeya is the managing director of NamCor.
"Our long-term success would depend on the confidence we earn from our customers and the standard we maintain every day. The true measure of this occasion will be the experience of the motorist who stops here tomorrow."
Delivering the Industries, Mines and Energy Minister's speech, Otavi Constituency Councillor George !Garab said the Ministry welcomes investment that strengthens the petroleum retail network while contributing to Namibia's energy security and economic development.
"The people of Otavi expect quality, reliability, and professionalism. The reopening is the beginning, not the end. The facility must remain properly maintained, fuel must be available 24/7 when customers need it, customers must be treated with respect, safety must remain a priority, and the facility must contribute positively to the local economy."
Otavi's Deputy Mayor Naydeen Ndapuondjene calls for stronger relations between Namcor and the Otavi Town Council.
"As the Otavi Town Council, we strongly believe that sustainable town development requires strong partnerships between local authority, government, institutions and the private sector. We therefore encourage Namcor to continue strengthening its relationship with the council and the wider community."
