Leader of the Windhoek Archdiocese, Reverend ArchBishop Liborius Ndumbukuti Nashenda, has been elected as the Inter-Regional Meeting of Bishops of Southern Africa, IMBISA, President.

Dom José Manuel Imbamba of the Conferência Episcopal de Angola e São Tomé e Príncipe (CEAST) was elected vice president, while Bishop Rudolf Nyandoro of the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishop Conference (ZCBC) was elected IMBISA Secretary General.
 
The results were announced by the IMBISA outgoing president, Bishop Muandula of Mozambique, this afternoon at the conference, which reflected on the theme: “Building forward together—Reimagining the Church’s engagement with young people in the IMBISA region in the light of Pope Francis’ Exhortation, Christus Vivit.”

At this Plenary Assembly, a special focus was given to young people and the role the church has to play in continuing dialogue with them.
