In six months' time, close to 700 plots will be ready for occupation at Farm 37 on the outskirts of Walvis Bay, Erongo Region.

The Mayor of Walvis Bay, Trevino Forbes, and other local authority councillors held community meetings to update residents about ongoing projects.

Farm 37, on the outskirts of the harbour town, was identified in 2015 as an area to accommodate all landless residents.

Some residents wanted to know what criteria the council would use to identify the first group of residents to be relocated to Farm 37, while others questioned whether the council has enough money to service two portions in six months' time.

Chairperson of the Walvis Bay Town Council Management Committee, Richard !Hoaeb, says the leadership will still have to set up the criteria for the first group to be relocated.
