In celebration of Readathon week, some learners from Sibbinda Circuit in the Zambezi Region congregated to showcase their talents through various activities.

The weeklong celebration included activities held by local and school libraries in the Zambezi region to promote a culture of reading among learners.

Learners showed up to show off their skills through poems, dramas, and reading activities, all held under the theme "Read Namibia: understand the impacts of climate change on key economic sectors and livelihoods in Namibia".

Speaking on behalf of the regional governor, the Sibbinda constituency councillor, Mike Lukaezi, emphasised the importance of "Read Namibia".

He added that the theme is fitting as it enlightens learners on climate change, its impact on key economic sectors and how best to mitigate it.

Shando Sinvula, one of the event organisers, called on learners to always take advantage of the library resources to help them in their studies.

All local libraries showcased various activities in the days leading up to the day.
