Former President Hifikepunye Pohamba has called on Namibians to reject tribalism and tolerate one another as a people.

Pohamba believes Namibians can do more if they stand together in harmony, irrespective of their social status.

The former president was speaking at the renaming of the MR44 dual-lane road behind Dune 7, between Swakopmund and Walvis Bay, to the Hifikepunye Pohamba freeway.

The road network was constructed to reduce traffic congestion between Swakopmund and Walvis Bay.
